Beads for Bellies was started in Summer ’12 when Jessica Mackenzie tested positive for the CDH1 mutation.
All of our proceeds go to a charity called No Stomach for Cancer, which has helped Jess’ family over this past difficult year.
To date, we have raised over $6,000!
Please give us your support!
Twenty is quite a young age to be worrying about stomach cancer. Unfortunately, Jessica Mackenzie tested positive for the CDH1 mutation. She started B4B to alleviate her anxiety, and it grew into a full-fledged charity that has raised over $6,000.
This young woman is an English major at Virginia Tech, and she runs another blog about Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer and the CDH1 mutation’s impact on her life. It is a creative non-fiction take on her personal experiences with this very serious subject.
